The second annual Elmira Civil War Symposium, organized by The Friends of the Elmira Civil War Prison Camp and sponsored by Elmira College, includes lectures and tours covering a range of topics related to Elmira’s Civil War history. Scheduled activities will take place on the historic Elmira College campus, Barracks #3 of the Civil War Prison Camp, John W. Jones Museum, Chemung Valley History Museum, Woodlawn Cemetery, and Park Church.
This year's keynote speaker is Wayne E. Motts, President Emeritus & Historian of the Gettysburg Foundation, which is the non-profit philanthropic partner of the Gettysburg National Military Park and the Eisenhower National Historic Site.
